Eric Bekoe Urges Kotoko to Prioritise Club DNA in the Next Coaching Appointment

Former Asante Kotoko forward Eric Bekoe has called on the club’s management to exercise caution in the appointment of a new head coach, stressing the importance of selecting a candidate who understands the team’s identity.

Speaking in remarks captured by 3Sports, the ex-striker emphasised that Kotoko’s rich tradition and philosophy must guide the decision-making process as the Porcupine Warriors prepare to usher in a new technical era.

“We need to be careful about the coach that we will bring on board. He should understand the tradition, philosophy, and DNA of the club so that he can get the chance to win the hearts of fans because Kotoko is a result-oriented club,” Bekoe stated.

Bekoe’s comments reflect growing conversations among supporters and club stakeholders regarding the direction of the team, particularly at a time when expectations remain high both domestically and on the continental stage.

Kotoko, one of Ghana’s most successful and widely supported clubs, has historically been associated with a winning culture — a reality Bekoe believes must remain central to any new appointment.

The club’s hierarchy is expected to continue consultations as they work towards naming a substantive head coach, with fans eager to see a leader capable of restoring consistency and delivering silverware.
