Enzo Retires From Active Football At Age 29
The former Real Madrid Player, Enzo has hung up his boots at the age of 29 following a 16-month away from the game. Having started his career with Juventus as a youngster, a move to Spain’s capital soon materialized back in 2004.
Enzo would end up spending 13 years with Los Blancos, making just one senior appearance along the way. He also netted on his debut, scoring with his first touch in a 5-1 Cup win against Ebro in November 2016.
The opportunity was of course handed to him while his father, Zizou, was in charge of the senior side. Enzo did enjoy success with the B team Real Madrid Castilla in his younger days, playing 78 times for the third-tier outfit.
In June 2017, the Bordeaux-born star moved to Alaves, penning a three-year deal with the La Liga team. Since then, further spells with Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland and Rodez in France also failed to bring any luck.
Zidane then returned to Spain’s third tier once again to join Fuenlabrada before failing to find a new club upon his exit and has now decided the time is right to hang up his boots after a spell in the wilderness.
Enzo has previously admitted feeling huge pressure due to having a famous father in Zinedine, which perhaps hints why his career has been so stop-start.
