Gospel musician Empress Gifty Adorye has initiated legal action against self-styled evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, for alleged defamation.
Filed at the Tema High Court on May 20, 2025, the lawsuit seeks GH₵20 million in damages for slander and libel. The suit was filed by her legal representatives, Osei Aidoh Akpokavie and Co.
According to court documents shared by her husband, Hopeson Adorye, Empress Gifty is also requesting a perpetual injunction to restrain Nana Agradaa and her affiliates from making further defamatory statements.
She is further asking the court to compel Agradaa to delete all videos and audio recordings containing defamatory remarks from her social media platforms.
In addition, Empress Gifty is seeking compensation for legal costs, including attorneys’ fees.
The case stems from a series of live videos posted on Facebook, where Nana Agradaa allegedly made damaging and offensive remarks about the gospel artiste.
Empress Gifty maintains that the statements have tarnished her reputation, prompting the court action.
