EMMANUEL AGYEMANG BADU CALLS FOR OTTO ADDO’S SACK

Former Black Stars player Emmanuel Agyemang has vouched for the sacking of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo following Ghana’s 2-0 loss to Sudan in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Black Stars are on the verge of missing out on the African Cup for the first time since 2004. The Black Stars have disappointingly picked just 2 points from 4 matches. Ghana’s slump have resulted in two successive African Cup of Nations tournament without a single win.

The appointment of Otto Addo promised so much but following the turn out of events former Black Stars player Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has given up.

Speaking to Ahotor 92.3 fm, Emmanuel Agyemang pointed to the fact that Ghana’s problem is multifaceted. The former Udinese midfielder rubber stamped Otto Addo’s sack.

“I was one of the candidates who approved Otto Addo’s second coming but what is happening under his watch clearly shows the Black Stars Coaching role is bigger than him. See I will back the Ghana Football Association if they sack Otto Addo”

Emmanuel Agyemang Badu added that Ghana’s inability to lay down proper structures at the grassroot level has affected the Black Stars.

“In the 2000’s Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Derek Boateng and the likes of John Mensah were introduced to the Black Stars after stellar campaign at the Under-20 level. During our time Sellas Tetteh introduced Agyemang Badu, Dede Ayew and Rabiu Mohammed after winning the under-20 World Cup to the Black Stars. This culminated in the success of the Black Stars but we have failed to that for a long period”

The future of Otto Addo is set to be a major topic following Ghana’s poor performance. Missing out on the 2025 AFCON could trigger an early departure.
