ELECTION 2024: Contributors To Bawumia’s Defeat; Akufo-Addo Ranks 1st; Ofori Atta 3rd

Mussa K. Dankwah, Executive Director and Head of Global Research at Global Info Analytics, has revealed that a staggering 80% of voters attribute the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 general elections to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ¹. This damning assessment was shared during a discussion a media interview.

Dankwah elaborated that while former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia also faced criticism, it was largely due to his close association with Akufo-Addo. The blame hierarchy, as outlined by Dankwah, places Akufo-Addo at the top, followed by Bawumia’s ties to Akufo-Addo, then former Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta, and finally Bawumia as an individual.

Dankwah attributed the widespread blame directed at Akufo-Addo to the legacy and record he left behind, which Bawumia had to run on during the elections. Voters’ negative experiences during Akufo-Addo’s tenure, combined with his actions and statements, ultimately contributed to the NPP’s defeat.

It’s worth noting that Dankwah, as the Executive Director and Head of Global Research at Global Info Analytics, brings a wealth of expertise in geopolitical issues, political risk, and elections ¹. His insights provide valuable context to the post-election analysis.
