Nana Nyeiku VII, the Ekumfi Sumankwaahen and Chief of Ekumfi Srafa, has endorsed NDC Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama ahead of the December 7 elections.
Praising John Mahama’s track record of development, the chief expressed confidence in his leadership, saying that Mahama’s accomplishments make him the clear choice for victory.
During Mr. Mahama’s #Mahama4Change2024 campaign visit to Ekumfi, Nana Nyeiku acknowledged that chiefs are generally expected to remain apolitical, but emphasized that John Mahama’s potential to bring tangible progress was evident to all.
He urged him to prioritize development in Ekumfi if elected, drawing attention to specific challenges faced by the community.
The chief raised concerns about the poor condition of roads in Ekumfi, stressing the urgent need for improvements, and appealed for employment initiatives to support local youth.
In response, John DranMahama assured Nana Nyeiku and the Ekumfi community that the NDC is committed to development.
He highlighted his 24-Hour Economy policy, which he believes will create substantial job opportunities, helping to address youth unemployment.
John Mahama also promised a district hospital, modern AstroTurf facilities, and enhancements to schools and markets, aiming to make life in Ekumfi more prosperous and less challenging.
