Director of legal affairs ndc and CEO of National Petroleum Authority, Godwin Edudzi Tameklo has called on Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to issue a public apology to the clerk of the Appointments Committee following what he described as an unjustified and disgraceful attack.
The legal practitioner condemned the conduct of the NPP Minority, labeling their actions against the female clerk as both regrettable and shameful. According to him, the woman did not deserve such treatment, which he believes tarnishes the reputation of the parliamentary process.
“I urge Hon. Afenyo-Markin to take a moment to review the footage of the incident. He will see clearly that there was no basis for the attack. As a gentleman and a Mason, I trust he will do the honorable thing and offer a sincere apology to the clerk and because Afenyo-Markin is a Mason is even be holds on him to behave like a gentleman.”Tameklo stated.
He further emphasized the need for mutual respect and decorum in parliamentary proceedings, particularly towards staff who play vital roles in upholding the institution’s integrity.
