Educational Reforms: GNAT backs reintroduction of PTA
The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has warmly welcomed the government’s decision to reintroduce Parents and Teachers Associations (PTAs) in schools.
According to Thomas Musah Tanko, GNAT’s General Secretary, this move will help restore discipline and past excellence in Ghana’s educational sector.
Tanko emphasized that PTAs are vital stakeholders, even featured in educational materials, and praised the government for reviving them.
He believes this initiative will improve governance and promote a better education system.
GNAT, established in 1960, is a non-partisan, non-sectarian, and equal-opportunity professional association of teachers in pre-tertiary education institutions and offices in Ghana.
With over 178,000 members, GNAT aims to ensure better conditions of service for its members and promote quality education.
