
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has reassured its customers that it is working diligently to restore power after severe rainstorms caused outages in parts of Accra on Tuesday, March 25.
In a statement issued on March 26, ECG explained that the disruptions were due to damage caused by the storm, which significantly affected sections of its network, leading to electrical faults and service interruptions.
According to ECG, a team of engineers has been dispatched to assess the extent of the damage and undertake necessary repairs to restore power as quickly as possible.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform our cherished customers that the heavy rainstorm that hit parts of Accra and its environs yesterday evening March 25, has caused some outages within our network,” ECG stated.
The company acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the power outages and assured customers that it is working tirelessly to restore electricity supply.
In the meantime, ECG advised customers to report any faults or damage to their nearest ECG office or contact their customer service hotline.
The severe rainstorm that hit Accra on Tuesday evening caused widespread damage, including power outages, flooding, and destruction of properties.
