The Electoral Commission (EC) has lauded Ghanaians for the peaceful and successful Presidential and Parliamentary polls held on Wednesday.
Mr Samuel Tettey, the EC Director of Elections, said with the only exception of Jaman North Constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region, where polls have been rescheduled to Thursday, December 8, due to disagreements among political parties over the voters’ register, everything went on generally smooth.
He said polls were extended by five hours on the Dwarf and Didza Islands in the Afram Plains North due to late start of voting.
He said the Commission has been receiving commendations for the smooth conduct of the election.
Mr Tettey said sorting and counting of ballots were underway nationwide.
