Ebi Bright Petitions Supreme Court Over Alleged Irregularities in Tema Central Parliamentary Results

Parliamentary Candidate for Tema Central, Ebi Bright, has explained why she has petitioned the Supreme Court regarding the Electoral Commission’s actions in declaring the Tema Central parliamentary seat. Initially, her name was announced as the Member of Parliament (MP), but this was later changed to Charles Forson.

In an interview with Citizen Kofi Owusu on Ahotor FM, Ebi Bright stated that once an individual is sworn in as an MP, debates over the issue at the parliamentary level are effectively closed.

Therefore, she had no option but to take her concerns to the Supreme Court to address the wrongful declaration during the collation process.

She emphasized that if Charles Forson claims to be the MP for Tema Central, the circumstances surrounding this declaration must be scrutinized to reveal the truth. “It is false, illegal, and wrong,” she asserted.

Ebi Bright added that the Supreme Court must investigate the alleged forgeries and irregularities, as the evidence shows there was no basis for Charles Forson to have been declared the winner of the seat in the first place.

Ebi Bright has reaffirmed her determination to seek justice through the appropriate legal channels in her ongoing dispute over the Tema Central parliamentary seat. Speaking passionately, she expressed confidence that following due process would yield a fair outcome, stating, “We will not let this matter rest. They should be prepared for a fight.”

She also took the opportunity to assure the people of Tema Central and all Ghanaians of her unwavering commitment to ensuring that the truth prevails. “I want the people of Tema Central to know that I will not back down.

This is not just about me but about protecting the integrity of our democracy,” she emphasized. Ebi Bright urged her supporters to remain steadfast as she continued to pursue justice.
