Drivers Promise Public Thank-You to Mahama Over Fuel Price Relief, Assure Fare Cuts Soon

The Chairman of the Concern Drivers Union, Mr. William Osei, popularly known as Paa Willie, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for the recent reduction in fuel prices, describing it as a major relief to commercial drivers across the country.

According to him, if fuel prices are reduced again in the next pricing window, drivers will personally move their vehicles to the President’s residence to express their gratitude and apologise for not supporting him in previous elections. He stressed that appreciation expressed on phone-ins, radio, and television discussions is not enough.

“As a driver myself, when I look at the current fuel prices, I can say frankly that we are very happy. The burden on drivers has reduced significantly,” he stated.

Mr. Osei further remarked that although former President John Atta Mills is no longer alive, drivers would also have gone to thank him for choosing John Dramani Mahama as his Vice President, a decision he believes has ultimately benefited drivers and Ghanaians today.

He concluded by assuring the public to remain patient, adding that transport fares would soon be reduced to reflect the relief drivers are currently enjoying from lower fuel prices.
