Dreams FC have responded to earlier release by Accra Lions after their 1-0 narrow defeat to the former in the Ghana Premier League round of sixteen fixture at the Tuba Astro Turf on Sunday. Accra Lions in their statement questioned among other things “How will the league ever acquire sponsors again if refereeing performances like yesterday’s become the standard”?- Accra Lions bemoans poor officiating.
The rock-bottom club addressed the Ghana Football Association following what they termed as a “scandalous officiating” after Edmond Amakye was shown in the 63rd minute of the game after a number a number of referring calls reportedly didn’t go their way.
Surprisingly however, Dreams FC in attempt to defend themselves, have said their last Sunday’s opponent should not discredit their efforts in the hard-fought win on Sunday.

“Football clubs all over the world have and will continue to benefit and suffer from refereeing infractions in matches. It is our responsibility as industry players to recognize this fact due to the human nature associated with officiating. In fact, these infractions remain prevalent in jurisdictions that have invested heavily to employ the use of modern technology in their game,” Dreams FC stated.
Dreams FC also highlighted that mechanisms exist to hold referees accountable, with officials found guilty of unprofessional conduct facing disciplinary action.
The club further expressed their disapproval of attempts to use them as scapegoats for advancing personal or organizational agendas.
Meanwhile, Accra Lions FC has already been charged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the commentary on match officials shared on social media in relation to the defeat to Dreams FC.
