In a statement addressing recent economic developments, Dr Hassan Ayariga, Founder and Leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), has commended the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC for implementing sound fiscal policies that have stabilized the Ghanaian Cedi. He calls on Ghanaian traders, particularly in the retail and wholesale sectors, to translate this stability into lower prices, emphasizing that such action would reflect economic fairness, patriotism, and a shared commitment to national progress. Dr. Hassan Ayariga writes;
The leadership of President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has demonstrated commendable fiscal discipline and sound economic policies, resulting in the stabilization of the Ghanaian Cedi. This achievement has brought significant relief to importers, traders, businessmen, entrepreneurs and consumers.
In light of this progress, the APC and Dr. Hassan Ayariga urge Ghanaian businessmen and women, especially those in the retail and wholesale sectors, to reflect this economic stability in their pricing. It is both fair and necessary that the benefits of a stronger Cedi be reflected in reduced prices of goods and services across the market.
This is not only an act of patriotism but a demonstration of solidarity with the Ghanaian people who have endured economic hardships. Lower prices will improve the standard of living, drive consumer demand, and further stimulate economic growth.
Together, we can build an economy that is strong, inclusive, and equitable.
Dr. Hassan Ayariga
