Dr. Clement Apaak’s Student Support Program Continues to Empower Builsa South Youth

Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, Member of Parliament for Builsa South, has authorized the Builsa South District Assembly to release and disburse 231,200 cedis from his portion of the common fund to assist 264 students in his constituency with their school fees.

The beneficiaries of this student support program, which began in 2017, were selected by his Students’ Support Selection Committee from a pool of 426 applications.

In a letter to the Builsa South District Assembly dated September 15, 2024, Dr. Apaak—who serves as the Deputy Ranking Member on Parliament’s Education Committee and as a spokesperson for education in the NDC’s 2024 campaign—highlighted that among the 264 beneficiaries, 140 are female and 124 are male.

The communication outlined that of the 264 students receiving support, 182 are enrolled in various universities, while 82 are attending nursing and teacher training colleges. Each university student will receive a support package of 1,000 cedis, while the nursing and teacher trainees will each receive 600 cedis.

Due to limited funding, not all applicants could be accommodated this year. However, Dr. Apaak encourages those who were not selected to reapply next year, noting that priority will be given to applicants who met the criteria but could not be supported this time.

Since its inception in 2017, Dr. Apaak’s student support program has aided a total of 995 students from Builsa South, amounting to 747,000 cedis.

This student support initiative is just one of many educational interventions the dedicated MP has undertaken. His commitment to enhancing education in the Builsa South Constituency reflects his unwavering dedication to public service.

In addition to education, Dr. Apaak has made significant contributions in healthcare delivery, water and sanitation, youth and women empowerment, and agriculture.
