Dr Bawumia is right, Ntim Fordjour did not win the elections on fair grounds – Stone Gee laments

The recent statement by the NPP Presidential Candidate, Dr. Bawumia, in which he asserted that he outperformed his own Parliamentary Candidate, Rev. Ntim Fordjour, is an eye-opener.

To be sincere, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The statement can only substantiate their earlier claims that Rev. Ntim Fordjour did not win the elections through fair means.

The results were manipulated in his favor, and this is why all efforts to close the gap were futile. The outcome was predetermined.

I want to acknowledge the efforts and dedication of the NDC’s Stephen Kofi Baidoo and his team.

Despite limited resources, they reduced the margin of votes from 15% in 2020 to 4% in the just ended 2024 elections.

This goes to prove that, with more effort, consistency and the same face, the seat can be won for their party in 2028.

As a blogger who was present on the ground throughout the election process, from the pre-election period to the post-election phase, I witnessed firsthand the events that unfolded.

I joined the team that distributed resources to communities ,interest groups and other other PC sponsored programmes such as borehole drilling , providing of laptops, driver licences etc to take records of the entire process.

It’s important to let Dr. Bawumia know that, he may have out performed his MP but he did not out perform president John Mahama who won for the first time in Assin South.

This was not an accident, it was due to the commitment of the NDC PC Stephen Kofi Baidoo and his team who were relentless in their fight to ensure victory for the NDC.

They would have been rejoicing over a victory if not for the actions of some Constituency executives including the Constitutioncy Chairman who is now claiming to have won the seat for the president and some branch party executives.

These executives actively campaigned against their own parliamentary candidate, preached “skirt and blouse,” and even went as far as working with the opponent to manipulate the electoral results.

According to my intelligence, some NDC polling agents under instructions from Senior party officers signed questionable pink sheets, destroyed pink sheets and eventually couldn’t account for 6 pink sheets all in an attempt to steal the mandate from the good people of Assin South.

The evidence available to me shows clearly that this was a well coordinated effort.

What shocks me the most is the claim by the detractors that it was the PC who sold the elections, stole party monies and items. This is ironic and unfortunate.

From my interactions with the PC, he worked beyond exception, with the little resources, his tactical personal engagements with stakeholders and influencers, it was clear to the team moving with him that he wanted the seat and never did he campaign against himself nor his Presidential Candidate.

The irony is that, those who campaigned against the party have positions and sadly those who worked for the victory have been sidelined in the constituency. The party must quickly address this issue.

I condemn all allegations of Hon. Stephen Kofi Baidoo selling his seat to the opposition and reiterate that these are just petty political propaganda aimed at tarnishing his image and persona.

The same tactics were used on The previous PCs; The late Sabina Appiah Kubi and the late Nana Baffour.

The people of Assin South deserve nothing but the truth and I urge them to see through the smoke of lies and propaganda.

Now, to Dr. Bawumia, your claim is valid, Rev. Ntim did not win the elections on fair grounds.
