Ghanaian musician Kwame Yogot has alleged that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is using his hit song, “Biibi Besi”, for political campaigns without his consent.
Yogot expressed his disapproval and sent a warning to Bawumia and his campaign team, advising them to stop using his song in a viral video.
According to him, he was not aware that his song was being used by the NPP, and that he had not permitted them to do so.
He said that he was “very disappointed” by the NPP’s actions and that he felt that they were insulting him and his family.
Kwame Yogot said that he felt that the NPP was using his song to “stir up emotions” and to “gain political mileage”.
According to him, he doesn’t support either the NPP or the NDC, and he did not want his music to be used for political purposes.
He added that he had filed a complaint with the Copyright Society of Ghana and that he was considering taking legal action against the NPP.
But the NPP has not yet responded to Yogot’s accusation.
Kwame is known for his numerous hit songs, including ‘’ Aben Wo Ha’’ and ‘‘ Biibi Besi’’.
