Don’t push for the construction of the National Cathedral amidst economic hardship – Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council.

The General Secretary of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, Apostle Emmanuel Tettey is urging caution in the push for the construction of the National Cathedral amidst economic hardship and high cost of living.

Work on the $400million project has stalled after the government spent $58million as seed money.

Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has addressed the controversial National Cathedral project during his ‘Bold Solution’ tour in the Greater Accra region.
He suggested a new approach that would ensure the completion of the edifice.
Dr Bawumia urged the church to take the lead in finding a way forward, including exploring private-sector funding options.

The church should come together and let’s know the best way forward, how we can even get private resources to help us complete the Cathedral.” He told the clergy during a meeting in Accra.

But speaking to Ahotro News, Apostle Emmanuel Tettey said though the council has not decided on the issue, it is important for the government to gage the sentiment of the people.
