Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister, Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng popularly known as Asabee, has called on politicians and feuding families not to exploit the situation for political gains.
According to him, the government yesterday released a press statement that declared a curfew to the Bawku area due to the substantial threat to public safety and security.
He indicated that, government is guided by its responsibility to protect lives and property and above all to enforce law and other to restore normalcy as quickly as possible.
Speaking in a press conference to address the Bawku brouhaha, Hon Asabee said they have taken notice of the misinterpretations that are been given by the various fractions in this matter that sometimes inflamed passion and designed to escalate the situation.
He called on such people to desist from their doings because such will not help bring peace to the area.
According to him, government is committed to take all necessary measure to help curb the mess in the Bawku area.
He said security agencies have been deployed to the area to ensure strictly the curfew and maintain law and order.
