Nigerian media personality Do2dtun has publicly backed comedian AY Makun in the wake of an AI-generated video showing him and May Edochie kissing.
Taking to X, Do2dtun shared an open letter encouraging AY, praising his creative legacy, and affirming that, even if the video were real, he had done nothing wrong.
“Open note to AY: You are an amazing creative with years of experience and grace. It’s easy to judge, and no one is perfect, but let me be honest—while AI should not be used for this purpose, you have done nothing wrong.”
He stressed the importance of clarifying the situation to prevent misinformation but reminded AY that his career and personal worth extend far beyond any controversy.
“You are ‘AY’ the Legend. There’s so much more to you than scandals.”
May Edochie filed for divorce from Yul Edochie in 2023, seeking ₦100 million in damages after he took a second wife. Meanwhile, AY Makun announced on April 7, 2024, that his marriage to Mabel was “slipping through his hands.”
In his message, Do2dtun emphasized that both AY and May are separated from their respective partners and deserve happiness.
“Always remind people of who you are, and never stop. This situation is tough, but AY, know this—you’ve done nothing wrong. Both of your ex-partners have allegedly moved on, and you and May have the right to do the same. This is 2025, and everyone deserves happiness. You are an amazing creative, and that will never change. Iree o!”
