The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza, has accused Maripoma Construction of only mobilising to site after receiving information about his planned inspection visit.
During the inspection, the Minister expressed disappointment over the slow pace of work, describing the contractor’s actions as unacceptable and indicative of a lack of commitment to the project.
He issued a strong warning to the company, directing it to achieve at least 20 percent progress within the next two months or risk facing sanctions from the government.
According to the Minister, delays in the project have already triggered frustration among local residents, particularly the youth, whose growing anger could escalate if urgent steps are not taken.
Mr. Agbodza stressed that the government will not tolerate undue delays on critical infrastructure projects, noting that contractors must be held accountable to ensure timely delivery and value for public funds.
