Dial 255# to Support MahamaCares and Help Make Healthcare a Right – Administrator Urges Ghanaians

ACCRA, Ghana, 11th May: Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (MahamaCares), Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, has called on Ghanaians to support the Fund by contributing towards quality healthcare delivery for people battling chronic diseases across the country.

Speaking during the Government Accountability Series on Monday, she urged citizens, corporate institutions, and stakeholders to actively support the initiative to help transform healthcare access in Ghana.

According to her, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, popularly known as MahamaCares, was established by President John Dramani Mahama to support chronic disease care, specialist treatment, healthcare infrastructure, medical training, and research.

She emphasized that the initiative is aimed at ensuring that quality healthcare becomes accessible to all citizens regardless of their financial status.

Madam Obuobia Darko-Opoku further encouraged Ghanaians to contribute to the Fund by dialing *255# on any mobile network operating in Ghana.

“To the good people of Ghana, this Trust Fund belongs to us. Whether you are a corporate entity or an individual, you can help save a life today. Simply dial *255# on any mobile network operating in Ghana to contribute to the Fund. Let us continue to build a Ghana where healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and where Mahama Cares is not a slogan, but a lived experience for every citizen,” she stated.

She noted that collective support from the public would help strengthen healthcare delivery and provide hope for patients requiring specialized and long-term medical care across the country.
