Former Black Stars midfielder Derek Boateng has criticized the Ghana Football Association for their inability to ensure quality pitches are in place for the Black Stars. Ghana faces the prospect of playing the upcoming World Cup and Afcon qualifiers away from home due to the absence of quality pitch.
Speaking to the media Derek condemned the GFA and asked them to step up to end this shame.
“The FA needs to work up and do something because this is their job. The only thing they care about is money. For me, I will say it and say it every single day, the only thing they care about is money. We have players playing in a good field, they will come here and come and play on a poor pitch and you expect them to perform well, and you expect them to win games. If the win is not coming, then it will be a problem. The FA people know what it takes for a player to perform well”

The former Youth Star indicated that it is sad Ghana lacks a standard stadium fit for hosting international matches.
“Ghana now have to find a field to play home matches. We are too much for that”

Derek Boateng insists the FA must wake up and see to it that quality pitches are provided for the Black Stars.
