David Obeng Nyarko wins GHC 65K defamatory case against Sports journalist Supper Obondede

Former Communication Director of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has won his defamatory case against Sports journalist Kwadwo Abu Bonsrah.

Popularly known in the media as Supper Obondede alleged in 2023 that the defendant has Said the Nana Yaw Amponsah led administration was going to pay salaries of a referee.

These allegations did not sit well with Mr David Obeng Nyarko and as a result instructed his lawyers to sue the Light FM’s sports Journalist at the Kumasi High Court.

After two years the court has finally ruled in favor of the former Asante Kotoko management member.

According to a post made by David Obeng Nyarko on his official Facebook page as sighted by ahotoronline.com, he announced that the court has ordered the defendant to pay an amount of Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 50,000.00) to the plaintiff, a written apology and also refrain from making any further defamatory statements against him.

“After almost two years in court, the verdict is finally here.

The court has ruled in my favor, confirming that the defamatory statements made about me by Kwadwo “Super Obondede” Bonsra were false and unjust.

The defendant has been ordered to:
Render an unqualified apology in writing within two weeks
Withdraw the false publication from all social media platforms
Order of Injunction to refrain from making any further defamatory statements
Pay damages of GhC 50,000 and costs of GhC 15,000
