Ghanaian dancehall artiste Aklerh is set to reconnect with her musical roots with the release of her new single, “Wo Dor,” a lovers’rock-inspired song scheduled for Monday, October 19, 2026, under the Revolution Records label.
The upcoming release marks a return to the reggae and dancehall sounds that helped shape her musical identity after she explored a different direction with her two Afrobeat singles, Amele and Good Vibes.
“Wo Dor,” which means “My Love,” is described as a soulful lovers’ rock song built around mellow basslines, soft melodies and soothing harmonies. The song is expected to offer listeners a more romantic, emotionally driven side of the artiste, with lyrics and sounds centred on love, affection, and genuine connection.
Speaking about the new single, Aklerh said the song represents a return to the musical influences that first inspired her career, while also demonstrating her ability to explore different genres.
According to the dancehall queen, her recent Afrobeat releases allowed her to showcase another side of her creativity, but “Wo Dor” gives her the opportunity to reconnect with reggae, a genre that remains an important part of her musical journey.
She also praised Tubhani Music for its contribution to the song, describing the project as an authentic lovers’ rock offering that reflects her growth and versatility as an artiste.
Aklerh’s previous singles, Amele and Good Vibes, introduced audiences to her contemporary Afrobeat sound, characterised by catchy hooks and upbeat rhythms. With “Wo Dor,” however, she takes a different musical approach, slowing things down to deliver a romantic sound that appeals to both longtime reggae fans and younger listeners.
Known for her energetic performances and ability to blend modern sounds with traditional influences, Aklerh continues to explore different musical styles while maintaining a connection to the foundation of her artistry.
The release of “Wo Dor” is expected to add another dimension to her catalogue, highlighting her versatility beyond dancehall and Afrobeat.
As the October 19 release date approaches, fans will be looking forward to hearing Aklerh’s latest offering and experiencing her return to the reggae lovers’ rock sound that first inspired her musical journey.
