Daddy Lumba Family Feud: Lawyer Exposes Marriage Shambles

The family feud surrounding the late Ghanaian music legend Daddy Lumba has taken a significant turn following a recent High Court ruling in Kumasi. The court officially recognized Akosua Serwaa Fosuh and Priscilla Ofori as the legitimate married wives of Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, much to the surprise of many who closely followed the case. This decision upheld the authenticity of both marriages despite controversies, especially those linked to Akosua Serwaa Fosuh’s claim to being the only lawful widow.

Lawyer Anokye Frimpong weighed in on the matter, offering a strong critique of Akosua Serwaa’s stance. He pointed out that Daddy Lumba’s decision to leave their matrimonial home in Germany and relocate to Ghana with another woman strongly indicated his intention to desert Akosua Serwaa. This act, Frimpong explained, showed a lack of communication and connection between the couple, especially since Daddy Lumba publicly acknowledged his relationship with another woman in Ghana. According to the lawyer, Akosua Serwaa’s failure to take timely legal or personal action significantly weakened her position to claim exclusive widowhood.

Anokye Frimpong further discussed the significant issue with Akosua Serwaa’s marriage certificate, which contained a defect. He criticized her legal team for not seeking proper verification from the German embassy to confirm the authenticity of the document. The lawyer expressed confusion over why Akosua Serwaa would risk making false claims about her marriage when the certificate had played an important role in securing Daddy Lumba’s stay in Germany. He emphasized that a thorough investigation could have prevented the present complications faced by Akosua Serwaa, suggesting her lawyer’s failure to do so damaged her case severely.

Overall, the dispute highlights the challenges in handling polygamous marriages across different legal jurisdictions, especially when documentation issues arise. The court’s decision confirms the complexity of Daddy Lumba’s marital situation and clarifies the status of his wives under Ghanaian law. Lawyer Frimpong’s commentary underscores the importance of clear evidence, honest claims, and diligent legal representation to resolve family disputes, particularly those involving highly publicized estates and inheritance rights.
