Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research has recommended that government should immediately take a second look at the state of adherence to Covid-19 safety protocols.
The latest call by Noguchi follows the third wave of Covid-19 that is beginning to hit hard the shores of Ghana currently amid Delta variant.
Speaking in an interview on Sunday 25 July 2021, Senior Research Fellow at Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research Dr. Kofi Bonney said “Government must relook at the state of adherence to safety protocols and impose restrictions to ensure total compliance. Delta variant stays on surface for long”.
Achimota School in Accra recently recorded cases of Delta variant of Covid-19 leading a temporary closure of the school amid testing.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo is expected to address Ghana to night on the steps being taken to contain, combat and prevent the spread of infectious Covid-19 pandemic.
