Ghana’s Black Princesses have booked a place at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after brushing aside their counterparts from Ethiopia in the final round of the qualifiers.
Two weeks ago, the Princesses travelled to Ethiopia for the first leg of the final playoff tie.
In a pulsating encounter, Ghana’s U-20 women’s team secured an emphatic 3-0 win in a delightful fashion.
Today at the Accra Sports Stadium, the Black Princesses hosted the Ethiopian opponent for the return leg encounter.
Following another good showing from the host, the team managed to beat the visitors 2-1 at the end of the 90 minutes.
Courtesy of a 5-1 aggregate victory, Ghana’s Black Princesses have secured qualification to the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
This is the sixth consecutive time the youth female national team of Ghana has qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The 2022 edition of the biennial tournament is scheduled to be staged in Costa Rica from Wednesday, 10 August, to Sunday, 28 August 2022.
