The Akyem Swedru constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) recently held a Unity Walk in various smaller towns within the area to mobilize support for the December 7 polls. The event aimed at rallying support for former President John Mahama and the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Mr. Rahim Taaju.
The Unity Walk saw participation from NDC members and supporters, culminating in a gathering at Akyem Akorti, where leaders addressed the attendees.
Mr. Tawiah Boateng, the former Eastern Regional Chairman of the NDC, speaking to our correspondent Eric Nyarko, criticized the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration under President Akufo-Addo.
He attributed the country’s economic hardships to alleged corruption within the NPP government, claiming that some officials are hoarding state funds.
Mr. Boateng urged constituents to vote for the NDC, emphasizing that a change in leadership would alleviate the current struggles faced by Ghanaians.
Mr. Rahim Taaju, the NDC parliamentary candidate, also appealed for support, promising to focus on development in the Akyem Swedru constituency if elected.
He encouraged constituents to vote for both John Mahama and the NDC PC to bring positive change and development to the area.
