Contractors Move to Site for 120-Bed Trauma and Emergency Hospital in Bole

The Minister of State in charge of Government Communication Felix Kwakye Ofosu has confirm that contractors have moved to site to commence construction of a 120-bed Specialised Trauma and Emergency Hospital at Bole in the Savannah Region.

The project is expected to provide a major boost to emergency and specialised healthcare delivery in the region, particularly for victims of road crashes, severe injuries and other medical emergencies requiring urgent intervention.

The hospital will occupy a 16,000-square-metre facility and is being designed to provide a range of specialised trauma and emergency care services.

Key facilities will include a 24-hour Accident and Emergency Unit, trauma resuscitation bays and emergency operating theatres to enable medical teams to respond promptly to critical cases.

The hospital will also have an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and a High Dependency Unit (HDU) for patients requiring close monitoring and specialised care.

Other components of the facility will include specialised trauma wards, a burns treatment unit, orthopaedic and surgical units, as well as imaging and diagnostic facilities.

The establishment of the specialised hospital is expected to strengthen access to emergency and trauma care for residents of Bole and surrounding communities, while reducing the need for patients with critical injuries to travel long distances for specialised treatment.

Once completed, the facility is expected to serve as an important centre for trauma and emergency care in the Savannah Region.
