COCOBOD Board Waives Sitting Allowances to Bolster Cocoa Sector Reforms

The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) Board of Directors has unanimously decided to forgo sitting allowances for the rest of the 2025/26 cocoa season. This bold step underscores their support for vital reforms in Ghana’s cocoa industry.

In an official public notice, COCOBOD explained that the waiver promotes financial prudence, shared responsibility, and strong leadership amid ongoing sector challenges. It aims to build long-term sustainability, restore stakeholder confidence, and protect cocoa farmers’ livelihoods.

The Board reaffirmed its focus on boosting efficiency, accountability, and collaboration with government and partners to ensure a thriving future for the industry.
