Coach Desmond Offei Optimistic After Key Victory Over Niger
The head coach of Black Satellite , Desmond Offei, has reaffirmed his commitment to refining the team’s style despite a rocky start to their campaign.
The team secured a much-needed 2-0 win against Niger in the WAFU Zone-B U20 competition at Stade de Municipal on Sunday, thanks to a standout performance from Dreams FC forward Aziz Musibau, who scored both goals in the second half.
Coach Desmond Offei acknowledged that the first half was challenging, but he remains focused on progressing as the tournament unfolds. This victory marks Ghana’s first win in two matches, following a disappointing 2-2 draw against Benin in their opener.
“We made a couple of changes, and while that’s not the only solution, every tournament is different. It took us a while to find our rhythm, but now we can build on this moving forward.”
With this win, Ghana sits at the top of Group A with 4 points, as Togo and Benin played to a 0-0 draw, each earning 2 points, while Niger has 1 point.
The Satellites will face Togo in their final group match on Wednesday, October 23, at Stade de Municipal.
