Church Leaders Join Chief to Promote Peace and Unity in Akyem Akroso

The Chief of Akyem Akroso in the Asene Manso Akroso District of the Eastern Region, Osaberema Nana Kwabena Ofori II, together with the leadership of the Akroso Local Council of Churches, has called on residents to embrace peace and unity to accelerate development in the community.

The call was made during a ceremony held to unveil a new chieftaincy title bestowed on the Chief by the Omanhene of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, in recognition of his leadership and contributions to the progress of the town.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Akroso Local Council of Churches, Rev. Phillip Oware Kumi, stressed that peace and unity remain essential ingredients for development in every community.

According to him, the absence of unity often delays progress, and he therefore urged residents to rally behind the Chief and traditional authorities to support developmental initiatives in Akyem Akroso.

Rev. Kumi further encouraged the people to remain committed to harmony and cooperation, describing unity as the strongest tool for building a prosperous society.

Addressing the gathering, Osaberema Nana Kwabena Ofori II disclosed that some individuals who do not support the development of the community had made attempts to create confusion between him and the traditional leadership.

However, he said those efforts have rather worked in his favour, turning into what he described as a “blessing and glory.”

The Chief therefore admonished all residents of Akyem Akroso to come together in unity, support the traditional leadership, and contribute in diverse ways toward enhancing development in the town.

He concluded by appealing to the people to set aside differences and focus on collective progress for the benefit of future generations.
