Ghanaian international winger Christopher Bonsu Baah has been shortlisted for Al Qadsiah’s Player of the Month award for January 2026, a recognition that comes amid his standout contributions during a highly productive period for the Saudi Pro League side.
The 21-year-old, who turns heads with his explosive pace, dribbling ability, and creative output from the left flank or wide areas, featured prominently as Al Qadsiah maintained an impressive unbeaten streak of seven league matches throughout the month.
This run not only highlighted the team’s growing consistency under their current setup but also helped them climb the table and build momentum in a fiercely competitive division.
Bonsu Baah appeared in all of those fixtures—reports indicate he played in six to seven Saudi Pro League games during January—where he directly contributed three assists, showcasing his knack for unlocking defenses and setting up key moments.
Notably, he delivered two assists in a convincing 5-1 victory over Al Hazem, earning a strong individual rating of 7.5 in that match, while his overall creativity helped sustain the team’s attacking threat even against tougher opponents.
Earlier highlights from the season, such as providing an assist in a 2-1 win over Karim Benzema’s Al Ittihad in late January (his fourth of the campaign at that point), underscored his rising influence and ability to perform in big games.
He is one of four nominees vying for the monthly accolade, facing stiff competition from forward Julián Quiñones (also known as Julian Quinones), midfielder Nahitan Nández, and fellow midfielder Musab Al Juwayr.
This shortlist reflects the depth of talent at Al Qadsiah, but Bonsu Baah’s nomination stands out as a testament to his seamless adaptation since joining from Belgian club KRC Genk on July 7, 2025, in a four-year deal reportedly worth around €15 million.
The young forward, who wears the number 22 shirt and stands at 172 cm with a playing weight of 74 kg, has already shown flashes of brilliance in Saudi Arabia, including celebrating a team victory over Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr earlier in the campaign with the caption “Made for this.”
Having made his mark with Ghana’s Black Stars senior team since 2025 (with two caps to his name so far), Bonsu Baah continues to build on his reputation as one of Ghana’s most promising exports.
Fans and observers view this Player of the Month nomination—announced in early February 2026—as further evidence of his rapid development and potential to become a key figure for both club and country in the seasons ahead, with his contract running until June 30, 2029.
