“Choose Proven Leadership, Not Risky Experiments – Prof. Opoku-Agyemang Urges Ahead of December Polls”

In a pointed appeal to voters ahead of the crucial December 7 general elections, the Vice Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has emphasized the importance of choosing seasoned leadership over untested governance.

With a backdrop of economic hardships and policy missteps, she argued that only a leader with substantial experience like former President John Dramani Mahama can steer Ghana out of what she described as the “mess” created by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration.

Speaking to market women at the Koforidua Central Market on Wednesday during her campaign tour of the Eastern Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang painted a stark picture of a country at a crossroads.

She urged voters to reflect on the current state of the nation, characterized by rising unemployment, economic mismanagement, and growing inequality.

According to her, it will require the experienced hand of Mr. Mahama, a man with a proven track record in governance, to reverse the decline and deliver the structural transformation the country needs.

She highlighted key policies the next NDC administration plans to roll out, including the establishment of the Women’s Development Bank, which would empower market women and traders.

She also underscored major initiatives such as the National Apprenticeship Programme, the Big Push for infrastructure, and the 24-Hour Economy, all designed to create jobs and revitalize the economy, particularly for the youth.

In a final rallying call, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged the traders to put their trust in Mahama’s experience and vision by casting their votes for the NDC.

She also called on the Electoral Commission to uphold fairness and transparency in its conduct before, during, and after the elections to ensure peace and stability.

Her message was clear: the stakes in this election are high, and the country cannot afford to gamble with its future.
