Check out Alan Kyerematen’s vision for Ghana’s future

Leader of the Movement for Change, has outlined a comprehensive vision to overhaul Ghana’s economy and governance structure, proposing significant reforms within the government.

Mr. Kyerematen said he will merge Ministry of Finance with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, emphasizing the benefits of this consolidation.

“We need to consolidate our economic oversight to ensure efficiency and coordinated development.”

He also proposed creating an Infrastructure Ministry by merging the Transport Ministry with the Ministry of Communication and Digitalisation, stating, “Our infrastructure development must be holistic, embracing both physical and digital realms.”

In a commitment to streamline government operations, Kyerematen announced plans to govern with just 40 ministers, underscoring the importance of efficiency.

“A smaller, more focused team can deliver better results for the nation” he added.

Responding to questions about his previous government roles, Mr. Kyerematen defended his independence of thought “because you were part of government, does it mean you can’t have your own views?”

He stressed his right to offer a new direction for Ghana, asserting, “If things were not going the way they should, I have the right to come out. People know things will change under my leadership.”

To stabilize the cedi, Mr. Kyerematen proposed boosting exports and enhancing value addition in Ghana’s oil and gas sectors.

Regarding illegal mining, he advocated for a pragmatic approach.

“We should license small-scale miners and provide them with management support to tackle galamsey.”

Mr. Kyerematen’s overarching goal is to build a modern, industrialized economy with equal opportunities for all.

“I want to lead the process of building a modern industrialized economy that provides equal opportunities to all citizens.”

His vision, encapsulated in the Great Transformational Plan, aims to transition Ghana from instability to stability, growth, resilience, and prosperity.

Addressing political dynamics in an interview with the media, Mr. Kyerematen clarified that the Yellow Ghana Movement is not affiliated with the Movement for Change, describing it as an undercover operation aimed at destabilizing their efforts.

He introduced his youth wing, the Yellow Army, as pivotal in driving his campaign forward.
