
Ghana’s local currency, the cedi, has depreciated against major currencies, notably the US dollar.
This follows a period of depreciation after the cedi breached the government’s GH& 12 target on the interbank exchange market.
As of Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the Bank of Ghana reports the cedi trading at GH₵10.85 to the US dollar.
According to its daily update, the cedi’s buying price is GH₵10.84, with a selling price of GH₵10.85 per US dollar. The British pound is bought at GH₵14.39 and sold at GH₵14.41, while the euro trades at GH₵12.64 for buying and GH₵12.65 for selling.
On October 29, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., some forex bureaus across the country quoted the cedi buying at GH₵11.80 and selling at GH₵12.30 against the dollar.
The pound was buying at GH₵15.60 and selling at GH₵16.50, and the euro was buying at GH₵13.60 and selling at GH₵14.40 on the retail market.
