Sports is no longer a source of entertainment but a big business venture – Dome Kwabenya MP
The Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Hon Sarah Adwoa Sarfo has expressed concerns about how the sports is been recognised in this country.
The MP said this on the floor of Parliament when the league leaders Medeama SC paid a courtesy call on the members of Parliament to present the league trophy to them .
The Honourable member emphasized that sports is no longer seen as a source of entertainment but its now regarded as a business and as such its organisation must be run as a business entity.
“Mr speaker, sports is no longer a game, we have gone pass that stage where we use sports as a source of entertainment or social activity in our community. Sports has now grown from that stage into a business and if its a business the we ought to organised it in such a way that it run as a business organisation and not just a funfair.
The Honourable member congratulated Medeama SC and appealed to the members of the House to support our football clubs in the country.
