The Court of Arbitration for Sport has officially confirmed that it will convene a hearing on 8 October 2026 in Lausanne, Switzerland, to address the ongoing appeal lodged by the Senegalese Football Federation against the Confederation of African Football and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
At the heart of the dispute is CAF’s earlier decision to award the AFCON 2025 final to Morocco on a 3-0 forfeit after determining that Senegal had effectively forfeited the match.
Senegal is seeking to have that ruling overturned in full, with the ultimate aim of having the Court of Arbitration for Sport declare the Teranga Lions the legitimate champions of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The proceedings themselves will take place behind closed doors, and the Court has made clear that no definitive verdict will be delivered on the day of the hearing. In light of various unverified claims circulating online, CAS has also issued a public reminder that only information released through its official channels should be regarded as authoritative, urging all interested parties to disregard any conflicting reports that appear elsewhere.
