Cape Verde national team head coach Pedro Brito, popularly known as Bubista, has confirmed that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has made contact with him regarding the vacant Black Stars head coach position.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Cape Verdean newspaper A Voz do Arquipélago, the highly-rated tactician disclosed that he has received approaches from several interested parties, including Ghana, but insisted that he is yet to make a decision about his future.
“I have received several offers, including contact from the Ghana Football Association, but no decision has been made,” Bubista revealed.
The development comes as the GFA continues its search for a substantive head coach to lead the Black Stars into the next phase of international competitions.
Bubista has earned widespread praise during his tenure with Cape Verde, guiding the Blue Sharks to impressive performances in recent Africa Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup qualification campaigns. His tactical discipline and ability to maximise the potential of his squad have made him one of the most respected coaches on the African continent.
While confirming Ghana’s interest, the Cape Verde coach stressed that he remains fully focused on his current responsibilities and will carefully evaluate all options before deciding on his next move.
The GFA has yet to officially comment on Bubista’s revelation, but his confirmation is expected to intensify speculation over who will eventually take charge of the four-time African champions.
