CAF President Frustrated About Nations Without CAF Standard Stadiums

The President of Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe has expressed concern regarding the absence of CAF standard stadiums in certain African countries for CAF games.

In an interview on another platform , CAF President emphasized the importance of national teams playing their home matches in front of their supporters within their own countries, as this is vital for the advancement of sports development across the continent.

The Black Stars of Ghana has been prohibited from hosting their 2025 African cup of nations qualifier matches in the Ghana due to the lack of a CAF category 3 stadium. Consequently, the upcoming game against the Sudan national team in October 2024 will have to be held outside Ghana.


CAF President Patrice Motsepe advocates for collaboration between football associations and governments to establish at least one CAF standard stadium for the senior national teams’ fixtures
