CAF INSPECTS ACCRA SPORTS STADIUM AND CAPE COAST SPORTS STADIUM AHEAD OF BLACK STARS AFCON QUALIFIER AGAINST SUDAN

Inspectors from the Confederation of African Football have assessed both the Accra Sports Stadium and the Cape Coast Sports Stadium over their capacity to host international matches.

Ghana would have to anxiously wait for the CAF’s approval of both stadiums to host Ghana’s upcoming 2025 doubleheader against Sudan.

Following swift intervention by the Government to forestall the embarrassment of playing home matches in a different country. Both stadiums were given a facelift, putting them in a much better condition ahead of the inspection.

If successful, the approval would allow the Black Stars to host Sudan on home soil in October. Last Month, Angola head coach Pedro Goncalves criticised Ghana following his side’s 1-0 win over the Black Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Speaking in a post-match interview he indicated that a country like Ghana does not deserve such

a pitch.

Ghana’s inability to maintain Sports infrastructure continues to mar its reputation on the continent.
