CAF Appoints Kurt Okraku as 2nd Vice President in Diverse New Leadership

Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, has been named 2nd Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), as announced by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe during a press conference in Accra on Saturday.

Okraku, elected unopposed to the CAF Executive Committee in March, was nominated by Motsepe and approved by the committee during its Accra meeting.

He replaces Ahmed Yahya, joining Faouzi Lekjaa, who succeeds Augustine Senghor as 1st Vice President.

Pierre-Alain Mounguengui of Gabon, appointed 3rd Vice President, represents Central Africa, emphasizing regional integration.

Kazadi Ditabala of DR Congo, the 4th Vice President, becomes a trailblazing female leader, reinforcing CAF’s commitment to gender equality. Feizal Sidat of Mozambique, named 5th Vice President, brings extensive experience, ensuring Southern Africa’s representation.

These appointments reflect CAF’s diverse and inclusive leadership, uniting regions and perspectives to advance African football under Motsepe’s guidance.

With a blend of experienced administrators, diplomatic voices, and pioneering figures, this leadership team is poised to strengthen governance, foster grassroots development, and elevate the continent’s football on the global stage, ensuring no region or community is overlooked in CAF’s vision for a more cohesive and competitive future.
