CAF and FIFA Instructor Thomas Nunoo Slams Ghana Premier League Refereeing Standards

Ghana’s CAF and FIFA instructor Thomas Nunoo has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating standard of refereeing in the Ghana Premier League.

Nunoo believes the recent performances of match officials are “worrying” and questions the consistency and impartiality of refereeing decisions.

Speaking to Asempa FM as monitored by ahotoronline.com, Nunoo emphasized that it’s not just about waiting for the Review Committee to raise concerns.

“We should be able to ask questions and make decisions,” he stressed. Nunoo hinted that some referees’ decisions appear to be influenced by external factors, stating, “Many of the decisions of some Premier League referees appear to be influenced by their positions”.

Nunoo’s comments come amid growing frustration with officiating in the Ghana Premier League, with Young Apostles recently announcing their decision to boycott remaining fixtures over poor refereeing.
