
The 2025 budget, presented yesterday by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has received widespread praise from the business community, with key industry leaders welcoming its provisions aimed at easing financial burdens and stimulating economic growth.
Dr. Joseph Obeng, President of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), commended the government for its commitment to supporting businesses, particularly through the removal of select taxes that have long been a challenge for traders.
He described the budget as a step in the right direction, expressing optimism that the tax cuts and other incentives would create a more favorable environment for businesses to thrive.

He noted that the relief measures introduced, particularly for manufacturers and SMEs, would help boost local production, create jobs, and enhance the competitiveness of Ghanaian industries.
“These measures will go a long way in reducing operational costs and making Ghanaian businesses more competitive both locally and internationally. We believe this budget sets the foundation for sustainable industrial growth,” Mr. Twum-Akwaboah stated.
