The Founder of Broni’s Foundation, Mr. Maxwell Broni marked his birthday with a generous act of kindness by donating assorted items to the SK Darko Gracious Foundation, formerly known as The Eye of the Lord Orphanage
The donation, made on behalf of Mr. Broni and the foundation included essential supplies such as drinks, bottled water, toiletries, biscuits, and clothing for the children.
Speaking on behalf of Mr. Maxwell Broni and the foundation, Mrs. Christiana Boakye Anokye explained that the decision to support the orphanage was inspired by prayer and divine direction. “We sought guidance from the Lord, and He led us to extend our support to the SK Darko Gracious Foundation,” she said.
She further emphasized that the core mission of Broni’s Foundation is to mobilize support from individuals and organizations to assist underprivileged children in Ghana. “We are committed to helping these children in all aspects of life—education, clothing, food, and other essentials that contribute to their well-being,” she added.
Mrs. Boakye Anokye also took the opportunity to express gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the donation possible, highlighting the importance of collective support in changing lives.
Receiving the items on behalf of the orphanage, Mr. Samuel Kwapong Darko, founder of SK Darko Gracious Foundation, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the generosity shown by Mr. Broni and his foundation.
“We currently have 60 children under our care—34 girls and 26 boys. This donation means a lot to us, and we are truly grateful,” Mr. Darko stated.
He also made a passionate appeal to NGOs, corporate bodies, and individuals to extend their support to the orphanage, citing urgent needs such as dormitory facilities, a perimeter fence for security, and other essential resources.
“Helping these children means reducing the number of street children, preventing crime, and curbing teenage pregnancy. Every form of support goes a long way in shaping their future,” he emphasized.
The children at the orphanage expressed their gratitude to Broni’s Foundation for their generosity and appealed for continuous support to improve their living conditions.
Mr. Samuel Kwapong Darko has made a heartfelt appeal to President John Dramani Mahama and the leaders of the country, urging them to enact laws that support persons with disabilities who aspire to establish orphanages and care for needy children.
Despite being visually impaired, he remains deeply committed to helping children who have lost their parents or whose families can not provide for them. However, he faces numerous challenges, including bureaucratic hurdles and discouragement from certain departments, which often make it difficult to sustain his mission.
He is calling on the government to provide legal and institutional support by streamlining the process for disabled individuals to establish and run charitable foundations. He emphasizes that official documentation, recognition, and necessary assistance would empower him and others in similar situations to continue their noble work without unnecessary obstacles.
By supporting such initiatives, he believes the government would not only uplift vulnerable children but also foster social harmony and peace within the country.
