Broda Sammy Calls Out Gospel Artistes for Favoring English-Speaking Collaborators

Ghanaian gospel singer Broda Sammy has expressed concerns over what he describes as selective collaboration within the gospel music industry.

According to him, some artistes deliberately choose to work only with English-speaking musicians, sidelining others based on language and personal biases.

Speaking on the Asetena Pa show with Akoto Mansa, Broda Sammy noted a growing trend where certain gospel musicians associate themselves with artistes who fit a specific image rather than embracing diversity.

“In this industry, some people pretend to be united, but in reality, they only collaborate with those who speak English or align with their ideologies. If you don’t fit into their circle, they won’t even consider working with you,” he stated.

When asked about the possibility of collaborating with renowned gospel artistes like Diana Hamilton and Kofi Owusu Peprah, Broda Sammy said he was open to it but would not take the first step.

“If they reach out, I have no problem, but I won’t go to them. I’ve seen how things operate in this industry, and I won’t beg anyone for a collaboration,” he added.

He further criticized what he perceives as hypocrisy within the gospel music fraternity, stating that while many of his colleagues publicly promote Christian values, their private actions often contradict their teachings.
