BREAKING: Thiago Motta Sacked by Juventus; Igor Tudor Set to Take Over

Juventus have sacked Thiago Motta after just 8 months in charge, AhotorSports can confirm.

Juventus have officially parted ways with head coach Thiago Motta, ending his stint with the club after a turbulent spell marked by inconsistent performances. The announcement, made earlier today via the club’s official channels, brings the curtain down on Motta’s tenure, with the simple message:

“Igor Tudor is the new coach of the Men’s First Team. Welcome back, Igor! The Club thanks Thiago Motta and all his staff for the professionalism demonstrated and for the work carried out in these months with passion and dedication, wishing them the best for the future.”

Juventus confirms Thiago Motta’s sacking

Motta’s dismissal follows a string of lackluster results, including a recent Coppa Italia exit that reportedly sealed his fate.

The 42-year-old was brought on to instil a more progressive style of football while gradually steering the club back in the right direction. Juventus Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli handpicked the Italian Brazilian manager following his exceptional feats at Bologna, considering him the ideal profile to dispel Max Allegri’s stagnant, uninspiring brand of football.

However, Motta fell way off the mark in his first nine months at the club, with the Bianconeri currently suffering some of their most embarrassing results in recent memory.

This includes a shocking Coppa Italia elimination against Empoli, followed by back-to-back beatdowns at the hands of Atalanta and Fiorentina.

He leaves Juventus in the 5th position with 52 points from 29 games winning 13 and drawing equal number Serie A this season.

In a rapid response, Juventus has moved to appoint Igor Tudor as the new head coach, a development first reported earlier this week by multiple Italian outlets.

The former Juventus defender Igor Tudor, who has been out of a job since parting ways with Lazio last June, is the man who will take over on a caretaker basis for the rest of the 2024-25 season to try and get the Bianconeri into a Champions League place.

The 46-year-old Tudor will also reportedly have an option in his contract for next season and the Croatian will assume control ahead of next weekend’s Serie A clash with Genoa.

Juventus fans have greeted the news with mixed emotions, with many expressing relief at Motta’s departure while hoping Tudor can turn the season around. The club now looks to reset under its new manager, with all eyes on how Tudor’s leadership will shape the Bianconeri’s fortunes in the weeks ahead.
