BREAKING THE BIAS AND MAKING A FIRM STATEMENT.

History will be made today as FIFA has designated 3 female referees to oversee the World Cup match between Costa Rica and Germany. It will be the first time in the history of the men’s World Cup that an all-female refereeing trio will handle a men’s game at the ongoing Mundial.

French referee Stéphanie Frappart has gotten the nod to arbitrate tomorrow’s final group game between Costa Rica and Germany. She will be assisted on the lines by Neuza Back and Karen Diaz.

In 2019, Stephanie Frappart changed the course of history when she received the nod from UEFA to handle the super cup match between Liverpool and Chelsea at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

Stephanie Frappart together with Yoshi Yamashita from Japan and Salima Mukansanga from Rwanda made history by becoming the first female referee to be chosen to officiate at the 2022 Mundial.
