Breaking: Samson Adamu Appointed New CAF Secretary General

Nigeria’s Samson Adamu has been appointed the new Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). He takes over the role following the resignation of Véron Mosengo-Omba, a Congolese administrator who had served in various high-level positions within international football for more than three decades.

Mosengo-Omba’s long tenure included significant contributions to the development of African football administration, having previously held key positions at both CAF and FIFA before assuming the Secretary General post in 2021.

Adamu, a seasoned Nigerian football executive with extensive experience in sports management and administration, steps into the position at a crucial time for the continental body. His appointment is expected to bring fresh perspectives and strengthen CAF’s ongoing efforts to enhance governance, youth development, and the overall competitiveness of African football on the global stage.

The transition comes amid CAF’s continued push for greater transparency and infrastructural growth across its 54 member associations.
